Parallette Training Brings You Impressive Skills, the Bigger “Guns,” and “Core” Than a Truck Full of Fruit. Why Parallettes?
Parallette training came into vogue in recent years, mostly due to their portability, ease of construction, and effectiveness for building upper body strength. However, the gymnasts have been using the “P-bars” (as you call it) is much, much longer to refine their techniques and help you learn new skills.
Parallettes give gymnast (or athlete) two advantages with mastering feats of balance and strength: 1. Leverage 2. Ground clearanceBy increasing leverage, we can add a bit of convenience to the arts as planches, that might otherwise be beyond out ability. As we train and improve, we can gradually rely less and less on the tool button. Adding ground clearance gives us more space to perform the movement, where might yet force or motion to do the same craft in the area.
These two advantages make parallette training is a great choice for building strength and movement you must make a difficult bodyweight skills. It’s also a great way to use art without putting as much as you want in the body (which is useful, because fine motor control decreases as exercise intensity increases – in other words, you can’t fancy stuff, when you’re muscles are struggling to limit their ability).
Of course, parallettes not just a “stepping stone” to more difficult exercises – and can also increase the challenge exercises like inverted presses adding to the range of motion. This simply builds more muscle than do the exercise in the area would allow.
With a Gold Medal Bodies approach to strength training is based on skill acquisition, it is only natural that we want to use parallettes to build both strength and skill.
Also ridiculously fun.
